The institute is led by the scientific council, which includes all regular professors, elected representatives of academic staff, research area leaders, and four student representatives.

The council's mandate is valid from July 1, 2021, to June 30, 2024, and students are represented for the period from July 1, 2023, to June 30, 2024.
