On 12 April, the University of Tartu and Kauss Arhitektuur OÜ signed the design contract for the new academic and research building. In addition, the partner will design the street area and the parking building.
On 8 December, in UT Library, the competition jury opened the sealed envelopes with names of the authors of the winning designs for an academic and research building on the Maarjamõisa field. From the ten entries submitted to the competition, the architectural solution “Sudoku” by Kauss Arhitektuur OÜ and Väli OÜ was announced as the winner.
This summer, the university announced an architectural competition to find a design for constructing an academic and research building and landscaping the surrounding area at Maarjavälja. On 19 October, the procurement committee opened the ten entries submitted to the competition.
At its meeting on 9 February, the council of the Faculty of Science and Technology decided to nominate Professor Jaak Vilo as a rector candidate of the University of Tartu.
On 16 December, Delta Centre hosts the Delta X student competition, in which participants test their skills in robotics, present start-up ideas and social innovation business models.
1 December marks 103 years from the opening of the Estonian-language University of Tartu. Traditional anniversary events will be held on that occasion.
