Hans Priks

Research profile

I work on engineered living materials and 3D-printed hydrogel systems containing microorganisms. My research has focused on understanding how physical confinement, material properties and mass transport influence microbial behaviour and the performance of living materials. I am particularly interested in applying 3D printing and biomaterials approaches to microbial immobilisation and functional living systems. I am also interested in collaborations that combine these approaches with microbiology, synthetic biology and bioprocessing expertise.
