The University of Tartu’s Institute of Technology has launched the ECOLABNET project, aimed at creating an effective and multidisciplinary network to support the transformation of companies’ production chains towards greater sustainability. Besides Estonia, the project’s partners include Finland, Lithuania, Poland, Sweden, Denmark, and several companies.
The ECOLABNET project originated from the need expressed by existing and new companies to develop sustainable eco-innovation, for which necessary knowledge may be lacking. University research provides the essential expertise and opportunities to commercialize research outcomes, enabling environmentally friendly solutions through collaboration between the two parties. The network created as a result of the project promotes cooperation not only among different universities and fields but also between companies and research institutions.
