This year, the University of Tartu Institute of Technology celebrates its 25th anniversary, and on 28 August the institute will host a special anniversary event bringing together staff, students, alumni, and partners to reflect on the past and look toward the future.
The first part of the celebration will focus on the Institute’s research, people, and future directions. The event will be hosted by Friedrich Kaasik.
Anniversary Programme
12:00 – Opening remarks (Nooruse 1, room 121)
The celebration will be opened by Director Reet, followed by greetings from guests who have played an important role in the establishment and development of the Institute of Technology.
12:30–13:30 – “Future Voices of TUIT: Science in Five Minutes” (Nooruse 1, room 121)
“Science in Five Minutes” offers a fast-paced and inspiring overview of the research topics currently being explored at the Institute of Technology and the future directions of the field. Young researchers will take the stage to introduce their research projects, ideas, and scientific work that contribute to shaping future technologies and innovation.

13:30–16:00 – TUIT Outdoor Festival
Following the academic programme, the celebration will continue outdoors with a relaxed parking lot gathering at the institute. The TÜTI house band will perform, and student organisations will offer food and refreshments.
The anniversary event is an opportunity to reconnect with colleagues, students, alumni, and friends, and to celebrate together the Institute of Technology’s 25-year journey at the forefront of science and innovation.
