Researchers' Night at the Institute of Technology 2025

On Friday, September 26, the University of Tartu Institute of Technology welcomes everyone to the Researchers' Night festival! Events will take place in two locations – the Nooruse 1 building and the Delta Center (Narva mnt 18). Bring your family and friends, your parents or grandparents, your teachers and classmates – there will be exciting activities, things to listen to and see for guests of all ages.

The world of engineering awaits you at the Delta building

At the Delta Center, you can learn about the exciting possibilities of engineering. Student organizations Tudengisatelliit, Semubot, and Kuupkulgur will be there with demonstrations. For the youngest visitors, there is an area for future engineers, where they can build robots from Legos, watch a robot basketball game, and complete an obstacle course with Robotontide robots.

"On Researchers' Night, we will be giving away Lego sets in cooperation with the NGO Robootika to spark children's interest in engineering and robotics. At the same time, parents can enjoy coffee made by a robot barista. So there will be something interesting for everyone," said Mariana Kukk, coordinator of the Delta engineering program.

In addition, there will be workshops titled "Are you an engineer of the future?" and a soft robotics workshop, where those interested can learn new things about robotics. You can find out more about the Delta program and workshops and register HERE.

In the Nooruse 1 teaching building, you can learn about the exciting world of materials science and biomedicine

In the demo area, you can explore the various tools used in biomedical laboratory work and find out how spider webs and soft robotics go together. In addition, visitors can learn more about how blood sugar levels change in the body, what causes this, and why it is important.

The workshops include the popular slime workshop, which helps participants gain a better understanding of materials science, and a biomedical workshop, where interested participants are given the opportunity to figure out what is ailing their "patients" – allowing them to try their hand at diagnostics.
